Wildborn Background Information
Wildborn are very simply creatures born in the wild. No two Wildborn are the same - they can appear to be a mix of different creatures and animals of Af?ael. Their bodies warped by the magic?s of the land. Some look very similar to other races with only slight differences, others are completely different. Similar strains will band together to form tribes of their own – when this happens the young born of these similar creatures seems to settle into a new type of race, but even these offspring more often than not will differ from the parents in some way. Not all such creatures are humanoid versions of animals. There are cases of dryad like creatures with bark like skin or hulking things who?s rocky like skin is similar in some ways to that of stone elemental creature.
Roleplaying Wildborn
As already said no two Wildborn are the same the limits are your imagination. One word of advice though – please keep your character concept within the spirit and character of the game – comedy characters can be fun for some – but not all folk will appreciate the same kind of humour if it ruins their experience!
Wildborn Costume Requirements
All we ask is that you look the part of the Wildborn you are playing. Some skills will require a phys rep like Horns or Tail; we advise that you try to look as different from the standard races as possible. It?s true that you may want to be a cat like creature but try to not look like a Felidae etc. or clay like humanoid but avoid looking like a Jotun.

A STUDY OF WILDBORN
Taken from “A STUDY OF WILDBORN” By Knight Captain darkstorm of the Liberi Draco They are the youngest race on A’feal, though not strictly one race they are a number of different spices all with the same creation origin. Its was thought at first that no two wildborn are the same, but through my study I have learn that this is not quite true. While it is true there are some wildborn that are a “one off” there are also many which like humans look the same but have different personalities.
How they were created
What is known is that wildborn were created at the same time or just after the wilds this was due to the massive amounts of ritual magic released during the war, it seems this massive amount of energy effected things within the area of the wilds, plants, animals, even the rocks them selves, giving them sentient life and a will of there own. What is not known is how this happened, was it by chance or did something shape the energy and create the wildborn on purpose? All rituals and scrying done to determine this have come up empty, almost like something is stopping us. I theorize that much like the wilds were created to protect A’feal them maybe the wildborn were created to protect the wilds. This is only a theory as it’s also possible that it is the left over effects of the war that have interfered with our ritual. Despite the vary varied look of the wild born some have been seen to look human other than horns or a change in the colour of the skin, others very golem like or even for want of a better description walking bushes or many appear to be animals in humanoid form, the fox kin are an example of this (not to be confused with the felidae). Wildborn are natural to A’feal much the same as hollowtooths are. The wildborn have been seen to breed, though it is still unclear as to how long the wildborn will live for. For the most part Wildborn live in harmony with there surrounding lands, this seems to be the more animal part of there nature but they do have a war like capability, The children of the thorns for example are a very warlike Wildborn group. It has become clear during this study the Wildborn in general do not like the unnatural, demon, unliving etc anything not truly of this world, again I believe this to be another part of there animal nature coming through. Almost like a six sense which most animals have of knowing some things not right. One thing which has been noticed is that most wildborn have been accepted by the wilds and seem to for the most part be able to travel the wilds with relative ease.
Wildborn Structure.
It appears most (though not all) wildborn follow the wilds council , this is made up pretty much along the same lines of the councils of other races, though the druids have much influence over this council. Most of the council operates behind closed doors it appears that only “The Whirlwind” travels openly throughout the wilds. I must point out that this could be down to the personality of the current Whirlwind. The Whirlwind is the champion of the wildborn, it is still unclear as to whether he holds a place on the council or works for them. In the last 15 years there has been 5 Whirlwinds the latest is Called Mandi he is clearly of the animal kind of Wildborn, some kind of gorilla type. Although a caster, he like other wildborn of the animal type is prone to moments of reverting to his primal nature, although with a far more savage twist than normal gorillas, this I put down to the higher intelligence than a normal gorilla, it seems like most races the more intelligent the greater the capacity for violence. Most wildborn that don’t follow the council still seem to band together with other wildborn, this is understandable as because the they are still new to A’feal and due to the vast difference in appearance many of the lesser educated view them with suspicion and fear, even to the point of seeing them as demons and monsters. This had lead to attacks and retaliations like the recent attacks of the children of the thorns. As I have already said the appearance of Wildborn is vary varied, as is there dress though it does seem that those of the same type are similar in dress much like clans and groups of other races, the fox kin or the rats of Dunstan are an example of this. The troops of the wilds council tend to look more militaristic, they can be identified by there grey tabards which carry the Whirlwinds symbol, there casters wear the same tabard but the colour varies depending upon there main branch of study. Attitude wise again the Wildborn vary greatly much like humans, some follow laws some do not, some are good and some are not. One thing that has become clear is that many that band together follow a pack mentality. More study into there hierarchy is a must if we are to understand this race. One thing that has become clear since the attack on Bishops port is that the wildborn are a force to be watched, for the most part they have capable leaders and willing troops, and a desire to forge their place in this world. Make no mistake though new this is not a race to be underestimated.
